LUG A MUG COLLABORATION MEETING OCT 27

So we all got togethor to discuss the future of the Lug A MUG campaign and looked into the possibility of collaborating with other groups in order to share resources and volounteers.
So far, GSEC, Guelph Sustainability and Global Youth Network are in. Maybe we can get OXFAM, ESSE and OPIRG involved?
SO, we discussed many things, including Wastless Wednesdays and its effectiveness. But we came to the realization that in order to help solve the problem (ie widespread usage of disposable cups on campus) we must first be able to effectively CHARACTERISE the nature of the beast. In order to do so, we first need to have a good idea of the existing BARRIERS to reusable mug use…ie WHY does a person either choose to LUG or NOT to LUG??
In a nutshell, We decided we should formulate a SURVEY to help us answer this question. We are hoping the results will paint a better picture of this social habit on campus in order to allow us to come up with the most effective solutions to the problem.
In conjunction, we will also do another round of MUG SPOTTING surveys in order to re-gauge mug use on campus.
NEXT LUG A MUG MEETING FRIDAY NOVEMBER 3rd @3:30pm in the GSEC office…….This meeting is set in order to brainstorm questions and to formulate a rough draft for the survey as well as to plan the MUG SPOTTING..All ideas are welcome.
