About the Enviro Rep Program

An Enviro Rep is a student volunteer position for students living in residence, with the objective of raising environmental awareness, conservation of resources in residence and implementing programs for postive change.

GSEC (Guelph Students for Environmental Change) was awarded a Gordon Nixon Leadership Award to start this project. They have teamed up the Sustainability Program at U of G and are working in co-operation with Student Housing Services and Residence Life Staff. Lambton has been selected as the pilot project for 2006-2007 year. We hope to see the program campus wide in the future. The program focuses on three areas; energy conservation, water management and waste reduction and recycling.

The Enviro Rep program is coordinated by a Peer Helper position out of the Sustainability Program. Currently the Enviro Rep coordinator is Lisa W. Starting in the fall 2007, the coordinator position will be open. Apply through the Peer Helper Program if you are interested in this fantastic environmental leadership position.
